Excerpts from The Book of Golden Precepts
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky underwent twenty years of training before founding The Theosophical Society. Three years of that training were spent in Tibet, where the Tashi Lama taught her from the secret books of esoteric Tibetan Buddhism at his monastery in Shigatse.
From one of these, the Book of the Golden Precepts, she translated three fragments. In them she clearly shows the essential difference between seeking spiritual liberation for oneself, and the difficult path taken by the Bodhisattvas of Compassion, who seek Knowledge only in order to be able to devote their lives to the liberation of their fellow human beings.
This book is an indispensable foundation for anyone who wants to take the Path to Enlightenment, because achieving true Enlightenment is only possible from Compassion.
