Over Leven en dood
Wim Gijsen in gesprek met D.J.P. Kok
The name ISIS stands for International Study-centre for Independent Search for truth. The goal is to form a core of Universal Brotherhood, by spreading knowledge about the spiritual structure of man and cosmos, free from dogma. The non-subsidized Foundation tries to achieve this through courses, public lectures, publishing books and brochures etc. The ISIS Foundation is closely connected to The Theosophical Society (Point Loma – Blavatskyhuis, The Hague).
The name Theosophy comes from the Greek 'Theos' and 'Sophia' and means Divine Wisdom. It is not a religion but a wisdom of life, which offers every person the possibility to find solutions for the many questions of life themselves. Theosophy, also called Secret Doctrine or Esoteric Philosophy, includes the principles of morality and provides instructions for human thinking and acting. Morality is explained through an extensive system of teachings about the laws in the Universe and the structure of man and the Universe. The teachings are not based on faith but on knowledge. In short, Theosophy is: independent thinking and research into truth. It explains both the how (science), the Why (philosophy), if the to what end (religion) of life.
