Theosofie, haar wezen en haar waarde, De
“Theosophy has attempted to re-establish the connection, broken in the West, between the exoteric knowledge of the outer court and the esoteric doctrine of the Holy of Holies, and to base the authority of its deepest teachings upon it. The student himself will have to find the means of penetrating to that esoteric core, then to maintain a state of spiritual and intellectual independence which will guard him against deception, and finally to develop that intuitive faculty which will render him receptive to the wisdom he seeks. Till then the system of Theosophical teachings, like any other, must rest upon the force with which it appeals to the logical and intuitive powers of the student, especially in those cases where other systems must be essentially silent.”
