Gulden Regels der Esoterische Wijsbegeerte
This booklet contains a collection of extracts from the archaic teachings of the
Wisdom-Religion of humanity as taught in the Holy Lodge of Compassion.
The teachings are intended for study and meditation by Chelas of the Esoteric School. They are drawn from the same source as the precepts in H. P. Blavatsky's The Voice of the Silence, but are put into language more comprehensible to the West.
A support and encouragement to all students of the Ancient Wisdom, to all who would like to know something more of the life led by the Chelas – pupils – of the Ancient Wisdom.
An opportunity to approach current questions about the meaning and prospects of life in a completely different way.
G. de Purucker was born in 1874 in Suffern, New York. In Geneva he studied English, French, German, Hebrew, Latin and Greek, but through his study of oriental philosophy, Sanskrit and the works of the early church fathers he shifted his attention to the Ancient Wisdom or Esoteric Philosophy, the common source of all world religions. In 1892 he became a member of The Theosophical Society, of which he was Leader from 1929 until his death in 1942.
