H.P. Blavatsky en de S.P.R.
Although it has been repeatedly pointed out that the SPR as an organisation has no opinions, it is generally regarded as responsible for endorsing the 'Hodgson Report' (as we shall hereafter refer to the report as a whole), and is thus known to condemn Madame Blavatsky.
In this issue of our magazine, which appears almost exactly one hundred years after the publication of the Hodgson Report, we rejoice, in the interests of truth and honesty, and to remove any displeasure which may have been aroused by us that Madame Blavatsky herself had been falsified.
Dr. Vernon Harrison, a former President of the Royal Photographic Society, was for ten years Research Manager to Thomas De La Rue, printer of bank notes, passports, stamps, etc., so that there is probably not much he does not know about forgeries. He is not a Fellow of the Theosophical Society, but has been a long-standing member of the SPR.
