Meesters en het Pad van het Occultisme, De
A successful attempt to restore to the much abused word 'Occultism' the meaning it originally had. As G. De Purucker clearly shows, Occultism means in fact the science of the hidden - not of the incredible, but of the essence, the root of things
And what is hidden can be known, by the seer who has trained himself to do so. There is nothing strange or frightening about that. Such a person is simply one step further along the age-old path of evolution than the average man. But anyone can take that step – if he wants to, if he has the courage, and if he follows the occult spiritual precepts. Where the first occult law holds true, that the 'right motive' determines Mastery.
G. de Purucker writes about those people who managed to penetrate behind the veils of outwardly visible nature, as a guide for all who wish to follow them.
G. de Purucker was born in 1874 in Suffern, New York. In Geneva he studied English, French, German, Hebrew, Latin and Greek. But through his study of oriental philosophy, Sanskrit and the works of the early church fathers he turned his attention to Occultism and Esoteric Philosophy. In 1892 he became a member of The Theosophical Society, of which he was Leader from 1929 until his death in 1942.
