Occult Glossarium
In this Occult Glossary, Gottfried de Purucker has collected more than 300 of the most important terms from Theosophy or Esoteric Philosophy and described them clearly and understandably.
Precisely because he believed that a good understanding of those terms is necessary for deeper study.
The Glossary contains terms from both Eastern and Western thought
But even for those who have been studying them for years, this Glossarium is indispensable, because these terms have faded and degenerated in meaning over time. Gottfried de Purucker shows the original meaning of these terms again.
He called this Glossary an Occult Glossary. Nowadays the concept of occultism is often experienced as something 'woo-woo'. In this book Gottfried de Purucker gives a sober answer to this under the keyword 'Occultism':
"Occultism," as the word is used by Theosophists, and as it should be used, means the study of the hidden things of Being, the science of life, of universal Nature. … of material and psychic, mental and spiritual nature, called the Hermetic and Esoteric Sciences.
