William Quan Judge, an American of Irish descent, was, with Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, one of the founders of The Theosophical Society in 1875. After her death he succeeded her as Leader of the Society.
\nThe first part of this book contains letters that WQ Judge wrote to one of his students, Jasper Niemand (pseudonym of Julia Ver Planck). The second half is a selection of letters that he wrote to others, and supplements the first letters.
\nJulia Ver Planck was one of the most active and faithful collaborators who supported him in the dissemination of theosophical ideas and also tried to live according to these ideas. In these letters WQ Judge points out to her the causes of the problems she experiences in this, and gives the solution in a simple and direct way, which often stimulates the intuition more than years of studying technical Theosophy.
\nThe book proves that the consistent application of theosophical ideas in this time is certainly not a Utopia.
