Esoterische Instructies 02: De Esoterische of Oosterse School
Teachers and Students * Seven Degrees of Initiation * Spiritual and Psychic Powers * Meditation * The Aim and Destiny of The Theosophical Society
G. de Purucker began teaching students of the Esoteric Section of The Theosophical Society in 1924. The first reports of this were published in 1932 as Fundamentals of the Esoteric PhilosophyIn 1982, the ISIS Foundation published a meticulous translation: Foundations of Esoteric PhilosophyFrom this subsequent instruction G. de Purucker then formulated twelve Esoteric Instructions together, intended for internal use in the Esoteric Section. The twelve Esoteric Instructions are a translation of this original, unmutilated edition. They are also an indispensable intermediate step for the reader to the 1987 published by Stichting ISIS Esoteric Teaching in the Eastern School, a translation of his most profound, later teachings.
G. de Purucker has indicated in each booklet – see Communications – how his instructions may best be studied. Volume 1 first, because it contains the basic principles: Compassion and the ethical and moral aspects of Theosophy. We urge the reader to follow the same discipline and even after Volume 1 to study Volume 2 first. Both volumes provide an indispensable basis for a good understanding of the technical teachings in Volumes 3 to 12.
Gottfried de Purucker was Leader of The Theosophical Society from 1929 to 1942. He followed the spiritual line that began with Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and was continued by William Quan Judge and Katherine Tingley. So that under his inspiring leadership the organization could experience an unprecedented spiritual flowering, which was also expressed in a large stream of publications on the Theosophical Teachings.
